Golf 7 and 7.5 GTI upgrade guide

The Golf 7 GTI (2013–2017) and its facelift, the 7.5 (2017–2020), are among the most modified GTIs. These are the upgrades that change the look and feel the most, with what each one fits and how it goes on.

Exterior: the biggest visual change

A front lip splitter is the quickest way to make the front look lower and wider; the one in our store fits the Golf 7 and 7.5 GTI, GTD, R and R-Line. At the back, an Oettinger-style roof spoiler (Golf 7 and 7.5 hatchback) and its side flaps change the profile.

Two rear parts fit the pre-facelift Golf 7 only: the rear diffuser (2013–2017, with or without an LED brake light) and the GTI rear side splitters (2014–2017). Matte chrome mirror caps fit both the 7 and the 7.5.

Interior: the parts you touch every day

Aluminium DSG paddle extensions make the paddles easier to reach, and a suede-finish DSG gear knob cover (automatic DSG only) refreshes the most used part of the cabin. Tartan covers bring back the classic GTI pattern.

A new steering wheel changes the cabin the most. Steering wheels are fitted by a professional: your original airbag is moved over, so check the details on the product page before you order.

Lighting and tech

LED door projector lights replace the original courtesy lights and project a logo on the ground when the door opens. The LCD climate control panel fits the Golf 7 and 7.5, but it is not plug and play: it needs professional fitting and coding with ODIS or VCDS, and cars with manual air conditioning also need extra sensors and wiring.

Before you order

Check whether you have a Golf 7 or a 7.5 (the model year in your VIN tells you), then check the fitment on the product page. Some parts may not be approved for road use in every country, so check your local rules. Not sure? Send us your VIN and we will check the fit for you.
